Who Should Not Wear Colored Contact Lenses?

Have you ever been attracted by beautiful colored contact lenses when browsing through makeup bloggers' posts? Nowadays, colored contact lenses have become more than just an alternative to regular glasses; they've become an essential tool for creating various makeup looks. However, not everyone is suitable for wearing colored contact lenses.

People with eye diseases should not wear them.

Those suffering from conditions such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, diabetes, or dry eye syndrome are not suitable for wearing colored contact lenses, as they can exacerbate eye diseases. Similarly, individuals with systemic diseases or those prone to allergies should also avoid wearing colored contact lenses.

Women during menstruation and pregnancy should not wear them either.

During menstruation, intraocular pressure increases, and the eyes are prone to congestion. Wearing colored contact lenses can have adverse effects on the eyes. During pregnancy, hormonal changes lead to thickening of the cornea, making wearing colored contact lenses uncomfortable.

Children in primary and secondary schools should avoid wearing them.

Children in this age group are in a critical period of growth and development, and their ocular axis is not yet fully formed. Wearing colored contact lenses prematurely can severely affect ocular physiological metabolism and may even cause irreversible damage to the eyes. Similarly, individuals over 40 years old experience degradation of eye tissues and reduced tear gland secretion, making it advisable to wear colored contact lenses for short periods or not at all.

People working in special environments should avoid wearing them.

If the environmental conditions are poor, such as exposure to sand, dust, volatile acids and alkalis, or if individuals need to spend long hours in front of a computer, wearing colored contact lenses is not advisable as it can lead to corneal hypoxia or inflammation.

While many girls love captivating big eye makeup, sacrificing eye health for beauty is never worth it. Colored contact lenses must be worn strictly according to the instructions and purchased through legitimate channels. If you cannot wear contact lenses, there's no need to be disappointed; after all, eyes that smile are the most beautiful, aren't they?
