Tips for Wearing Colored Contact Lenses!

Human eyes are both beautiful and fragile. Colored contact lenses are worn directly on the eyes, and the cleanliness of the lenses directly affects eye health. Therefore, daily cleaning and care of the lenses are crucial. Let's learn together how to maintain colored contact lenses!

  1. Colored contact lenses will dry out when dehydrated, and once they are dry, they should not be worn again. Newly opened colored contact lenses should not be worn immediately; they should be soaked in solution for at least 6 hours. Therefore, it's advisable to soak the lenses in solution overnight the day before using them.

  2. Residual bacteria and protein deposits are inevitable on the lenses during wear, so the cleaning step must not be omitted, as it directly affects the lifespan of the lenses. If you don't wear them regularly, remember to change the solution every 2 days. Moreover, if you decide to wear them after a long period of not wearing them, it's best to clean the lenses again the night before.

  3. When wearing colored contact lenses, if the lens doesn't enter the eye, don't rush to wear it again. Instead, thoroughly rinse the lens before wearing it. If it falls on the ground, it should be soaked and disinfected again. It's recommended to operate on a tabletop or place a tissue on the tabletop for hygiene.

  4. Do not soak the lenses in liquids other than solution; tap water, mineral water, distilled water, and saline solution are all not suitable. When choosing a solution, try to avoid those containing hydrogen peroxide. The shelf life of the solution is generally three months; do not use expired solution or reuse it.

  5. If you use tools to handle the lenses, the tools should also be thoroughly rinsed and disinfected. If you prefer using your fingers to wear the lenses, be careful as long and sharp nails may scratch the lenses. Also, make sure to clean the dirt and bacteria from under the nails to avoid contaminating the lenses.

  6. Colored contact lenses have an expiration date. It's generally recommended to dispose of them a few months in advance. For example, dispose of bi-weekly lenses after 4-5 months of opening, and dispose of yearly lenses after around 10 months. Lenses nearing expiration or already expired may have accumulated a lot of protein deposits or even become deformed, causing discomfort. Never wear expired lenses.

Currently, colored contact lenses are trendy, and there are numerous brands on the market, making it overwhelming. The EyeCoo brand series of colored contact lenses use an internal coating printing process, ensuring that the dye does not touch the eyeball, providing both comfort and safety, making it a trustworthy choice for you.
